Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced the construction of a 14-storey earthquake-resilient office complex using advanced base isolation technology, capable of withstanding quakes up to 8.5 magnitude. Located in Gurkhabasti, the building aims to centralize government departments. Speaking at an infrastructure seminar, Saha revealed ₹7,000 crore has been allocated for infrastructure upgrades, including RCC bridges, highway expansions, and a 449-km ring road under the Bharat Mala scheme. A new flyover in Agartala is also underway. He credited PM Modi for the Northeast's development and highlighted Tripura’s potential as a gateway for trade with Southeast Asia due to its location.
