DuckDuckGo Introduces AI Image Filter and Scam Blocker to Enhance Privacy and Security

DuckDuckGo has introduced two new features to enhance user privacy and safety: an AI image filter and a Scam Blocker. The AI image filter allows users to hide AI-generated images from search results by selecting “Hide AI-Generated Images” under the Images tab. This addresses user complaints about low-quality AI content. The filter uses curated open-source blocklists but may not catch all AI images. The Scam Blocker prevents access to fraudulent sites like fake stores and malware scams. Unlike similar tools, it doesn’t rely on Google or track users. It uses Netcraft’s lists, updates locally every 20 minutes, and runs checks in real time.
