Tata Sons has established the AI-171 Memorial and Welfare Trust with a ₹500 crore corpus to support victims of the June 12 Air India Dreamliner crash in Ahmedabad, which claimed 241 lives. Tata Sons and Tata Trusts contributed ₹250 crore each. The trust will offer ₹1 crore ex-gratia to families of the deceased, medical aid to the injured, and support for rebuilding damaged infrastructure. It will also assist first responders and relief workers. Formally registered in Mumbai, the trust will be overseen by a five-member board. This initiative reflects Tata Group’s long-term commitment to recovery and rehabilitation efforts.
