The Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) has strongly rejected Meitei group allegations linking the German-Tiger and Singheu Roads to drug trafficking, calling them baseless and defamatory. These roads, developed after the May 3, 2023 ethnic violence, serve as humanitarian lifelines for transporting essentials and civilians, not for illicit activities. The KZC criticized the claims as attempts to marginalize the Kuki-Zo community and divert attention from the “Biren Audio Tape” controversy. Urging central government intervention, the council called for support in improving these vital routes, asserting they symbolize community resilience amid violence, displacement, and isolation—not criminality.
