Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar good health and appreciated his service to the nation after Dhankhar resigned from his post citing health concerns. Dhankhar, who had two years remaining in his five-year term, submitted his resignation to President Droupadi Murmu with immediate effect during the Monsoon Session of Parliament. Deputy Chairperson Harivansh Singh presided over the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday morning, but the House was adjourned till 2 PM due to Opposition uproar. While the Opposition speculated on the timing of Dhankhar’s resignation, the government has not issued an official response yet.
