India's Home Minister Amit Shah announced that three Pakistani militants killed near Srinagar were responsible for the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people, mostly Hindu tourists. The attackers, linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, were killed in a joint military operation in Dachigam. Shah confirmed their identity through forensic and witness evidence, stating the same rifles were used in the attack. India blamed Pakistan for backing the assailants, triggering a four-day conflict in May that killed over 70 people. The Resistance Front initially claimed responsibility but later withdrew. The U.S. recently designated TRF a terrorist group. Kashmir remains a contested region.
