Bihar: Nitish Kumar Announces 3x Pay Hike for ASHA Workers; Mamata Scheme Incentives Doubled

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced a threefold increase in incentives for ASHA workers, raising it from ₹1,000 to ₹3,000, and doubling Mamata workers' childbirth incentives from ₹300 to ₹600, recognizing their vital role in rural healthcare. These measures come ahead of the state assembly elections. The Bihar government also increased pensions for accredited journalists, limited 35% job reservation for women to state residents, and introduced 125 units of free electricity for domestic consumers. Additionally, the state approved the formation of a Sanitation Workers Commission to safeguard their rights, welfare, and access to government schemes.
