In Gujarat's Amreli district, three lion cubs died within three days, prompting the forest department to isolate three lionesses and six cubs for precautionary health checks. Two cubs died on July 28 and one on July 30. Forest Minister Mulubhai Bera stated that blood samples will be collected and sent for analysis. Earlier, two abandoned cubs rescued near Kagvadar village died from weakness and pneumonia. Authorities are now checking the health of other lions in the area. The incident raises concerns, recalling a 2018 outbreak where 11 lions died due to the canine distemper virus and protozoal infection.
