On July 30, the Lok Sabha approved extending President’s Rule in Manipur for another six months beyond August 13. Minister of State Nityanand Rai emphasized that peace is returning to the state, noting only one death and no casualties in the last four months since the imposition. He stressed that President’s Rule is essential to maintain peace and law and order. Efforts are ongoing to reconcile the state’s ethnic communities through dialogue. President’s Rule was first imposed on February 13 and approved by Parliament on April 2, with each approval lasting six months. Speaker Om Birla confirmed the resolution’s passage.
