Actress Nandini Kashyap Denied Bail, Remanded to 2-Day Police Custody in Hit-and-Run Case

Assamese actress Nandini Kashyap was remanded to two days of police custody after the Kamrup (Metro) CJM Court denied her bail in the July 25 hit-and-run case that killed 21-year-old Samiul Haque in Guwahati’s Dakhingaon. Arrested on July 30, Kashyap was detained in North Guwahati and later taken to Panbazar Women Police Station. Police have added Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita to the case. Samiul, a student and GMC employee, died after being hit by a speeding vehicle allegedly driven by Kashyap. Her arrest came amid public outrage and pressure from student bodies seeking justice.
