Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a high-level review meeting to assess preparations for the rollout of 'Nijut Moina 2.0', aimed at financially supporting girl students pursuing higher education. Held via video conference, the meeting included ministers, MLAs, DCs, and education officials to ensure smooth implementation. CM Sarma highlighted that the scheme, launched to fight child marriage and promote female education, had benefited nearly 2 lakh girls with ₹132 crore in assistance last year. The second edition aims to further empower girls from economically weaker sections to continue their education and discourage early marriages.
