Amid widespread layoffs in the IT industry due to AI-driven restructuring, Infosys has announced plans to hire 20,000 fresh graduates in 2025. CEO Salil Parekh emphasized that the company is investing in AI capabilities rather than downsizing, with 2.75 lakh employees already trained in AI. In contrast to rivals like TCS and HCLTech, which are reducing workforce, Infosys sees AI as an opportunity to boost productivity and efficiency. The company expects a 5–15% improvement in software development and a 20% rise in core banking efficiency. Infosys aims to future-proof itself by upskilling rather than cutting jobs.
