Assam Police Constable Found Dead by Suicide at 10th APBN Headquarters in Guwahati

Manik Das, a police constable with the 10th Assam Police Battalion (APBN) in Kahilipara, Guwahati, died by suicide using his service revolver on returning from duty in Khanapara. The incident occurred around 6:30 PM. Das, a resident of Kochpara in Bijni, Chirang district, reportedly shot himself in the head. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the reasons behind the act. His body has been sent to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for post-mortem, to be conducted in the presence of a magistrate. The incident has deeply shocked the police force, and further inquiries are ongoing.
