Himanta Announces 5 New Foot Overbridges for Guwahati; LGBI Airport Terminal Set for November Completion

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the construction of five new foot overbridges along the busy Khanapara–Jalukbari stretch in Guwahati to improve pedestrian safety and ease traffic congestion. The announcement followed his review of ongoing infrastructure projects in the city. Earlier, Sarma visited the under-construction international terminal at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport with a Bhutanese delegation. He informed the media that the terminal is likely to be completed by November and expressed plans to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi for its inauguration. The terminal will enhance international connectivity and increase passenger capacity in the Northeast region.
