Kishtwar Encounter Underway; Two Terrorists Suspected to be Trapped: Police

On Sunday morning, two suspected Pakistani terrorists were trapped in Dool on the Kishtwar-Paddar road, Jammu & Kashmir. Security forces, acting on specific intelligence, established contact, leading to an ongoing encounter confirmed by the Army’s White Knight Corps. The operation, involving gunfire exchanges, comes ahead of Independence Day amid heightened security. On Saturday, police raided 26 houses linked to terrorists, including Hizbul commander Mohammad Amin Bhat. Meanwhile, in Kulgam, a major anti-terror operation since August 1 has resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and one terrorist, marking one of the longest such operations in recent years.
