On Independence Day, Tripura CM Manik Saha highlighted the state’s achievements in safety, welfare, and governance. He noted Tripura’s crime rate is far below the national average, with a 19.4% fall in 2024 and another 12.35% decline in 2025. Crimes against women are also lower than the national average, supported by women’s help desks and police stations. The state intensified drug control, cybercrime monitoring, and public outreach. Welfare initiatives included disability empowerment, new Anganwadi centres, pensions, child support schemes, and hostels for working women. Saha credited PM Modi’s vision, citing growth in GSDP, infrastructure, agriculture, and industrial investment.
