The Nagaland government has announced a seven-day state mourning from August 16 to honor Governor La Ganesan, who passed away at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, on Friday evening. During this period, the National Flag will be flown at half-mast on all official buildings where it is regularly hoisted. Additionally, the state government declared that no official entertainment or celebrations will be held throughout the mourning period. The notification, issued by Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen, emphasized the gesture as a mark of deep respect for the late Governor’s service and contribution to the state and the nation.
