Tripura’s railway infrastructure was boosted with the commissioning of the Teliamura traction sub-station in Khowai district, enabling electric train services. This follows the recent commissioning of the Udaipur traction sub-station in Gomati district. Both are part of the Northeastern Frontier Railway’s plan to replace diesel trains with electric ones, aiming for cleaner, more efficient railways. The Teliamura station is now equipped for electrified operations, improving train service reliability and power stability for nearby communities. The electrification drive supports the central government’s mission to expand electric rail connectivity, reduce costs, cut emissions, and strengthen transport infrastructure in Tripura.
