Tripura Student Body Stages Sit-in Protest Against Illegal Migration

The Twipra Students' Federation (TSF), part of the North East Students' Organisation (NESO), has announced an All-Sit Protest on August 18 at Circuit House, Agartala, to address illegal migration issues. TSF General Secretary Hamalu Jamatia stated the protest starts at 10:00 am, aiming to demand protection for indigenous people, their land, and identity. He urged civil society, student groups, and youth organizations to support and join the democratic movement. TSF warns that unchecked illegal migration threatens the demographic balance, identity, and rights of indigenous communities in Tripura and the Northeast.
