At the Miss Universe India 2025 finale in Jaipur on August 18, Manipur’s Sarangthem Nirupama secured the fourth runner-up title and also won the Miss Popular award, showcasing her talent and popularity. A psychology student at CT University, Punjab, Nirupama highlighted the growing presence of the northeast in national pageants. Rajasthan’s Manika Vishwakarma was crowned Miss Universe India 2025 and will represent India at the global pageant in Thailand this November. Tanya Sharma, Mehak Dhingra, and Amishi Kaushik finished as first, second, and third runners-up, respectively, while Mizoram’s Evelyn Zachhingpuii reached the top 20, further strengthening the northeast’s presence.
