Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he looks forward to meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping at the SCO Summit in Tianjin, stressing that stable, constructive ties are vital for peace and prosperity. India and China agreed to resume direct flights, border trade, and facilitate investment and visas. Three new border mechanisms will address delimitation, de-escalation, and management. Modi, Jaishankar, and Doval highlighted mutual respect, peace on the border, and progress since the 2023 Kazan meeting. India raised concerns over China’s mega dam on the Brahmaputra and terrorism, while both sides pledged cooperation on trade, diplomacy, river data sharing, and multilateralism.
