Ajay Kumar Bhalla to be Sworn In as Nagaland Governor on August 25

Ajay Kumar Bhalla, currently serving as Manipur’s Governor, will be sworn in as the new Governor of Nagaland on August 25 at Raj Bhavan, Kohima. He was given additional charge after the death of Governor La Ganesan on August 15 in Chennai. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio welcomed Bhalla, expressing hope that his administrative experience would aid peace, harmony, and progress in the state. Nagaland’s official mourning for La Ganesan ended on August 22. A senior BJP leader with RSS roots, La Ganesan had previously served as Governor of Manipur, West Bengal, and Nagaland, where he assumed office in February 2023.
