Meghalaya Poised to Emerge as ‘Fast-Mover State’ with Progress in Health, Education & Agriculture

On August 22, Meghalaya IPR Commissioner Vijay Kumar Mantri said the state is progressing from an “aspirer state” to a “fast-mover state,” with major gains in agriculture, health, education, and infrastructure through central schemes. He cited PM-Kisan, Ayushman Bharat, PM Poshan, and Jal Jeevan Mission as key drivers. Mantri set 2032 as a milestone for strengthening connectivity, power, water, housing, and education. Governor C H Vijayashankar stressed effective implementation, while Minister Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh highlighted the importance of authentic information. The PIB workshop “Vartalap” also discussed AI, media ethics, and the role of media in spreading awareness responsibly.
