Finland President Talks with PM on Bilateral Ties, India-EU FTA

Finland President Alexander Stubb spoke with PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday, sharing his assessment of recent European meetings on the Russia-Ukraine war, ahead of Modi’s likely meeting with Putin at the SCO Summit in China. Both leaders discussed bilateral ties and emphasized concluding the India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) soon, especially after US tariffs hit Indian exports. They also reviewed cooperation in emerging sectors like AI, 6G, quantum tech, and cybersecurity, with Stubb supporting India’s 2026 AI Summit. Modi reiterated India’s commitment to peace and dialogue in Ukraine, echoing Ukrainian President Zelenskyy’s call for India’s role in ending the war.
