Assam Man Arrested for Allegedly Sharing Contacts with Bangladesh-Based JMB Outfit

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the arrest of Ali Hussain Bepari in Dhubri for allegedly sharing phone numbers of locals with JMB, which sought to radicalize people. Sarma warned of strict action against those aiding such outfits and said vigil is tightened in Dhubri and South Salmara. He clarified no FIR will be filed against Sayeeda Hamid over her remarks but action will be taken if she returns. Sarma highlighted ongoing deportations of Bangladeshis, anomalies in the NRC, and pending Supreme Court cases, stressing the current NRC cannot be accepted. He dismissed foreign media criticism on evictions as irrelevant.
