Arunachal Govt Grants ₹2.49 Crore to Athletes, Unveils New Coaching & Empowerment Scheme

The Arunachal Pradesh government distributed ₹2.49 crore in cash incentives to 411 athletes and para-athletes for achievements at state, national, and international levels. Chief Minister Pema Khandu highlighted that ₹7.1 crore has been awarded so far to 940 athletes, reaffirming the government’s commitment to building a strong sports ecosystem. On the occasion, the government launched the Chief Minister’s Athlete Coaching & Empowerment Scheme, upgrading the earlier scholarship program to provide structured coaching, training, and holistic support alongside rewards. The event, attended by top leaders and dignitaries, also featured athlete Hillang Yajik Kabak Yano lauding the state’s sports initiatives.
