Meghalaya CM Launches ‘CM Connect’ & ‘1971’ Helpline in Tura to Strengthen People-First Governance

On August 30, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma inaugurated the CM Connect Centre at P.A. Sangma Stadium in Tura, describing it as a step toward governance rooted in listening and empathy. Alongside the launch, a dedicated helpline ‘1971’ was introduced, enabling citizens to call, WhatsApp, or use the website to raise grievances and share feedback. Sangma announced plans to establish CM Connect Centres across all 56 blocks of the state, making them one-stop public service hubs. He emphasized respectful, empathetic governance, directing his team to serve with kindness and care, reinforcing transparency and a people-first administrative culture.
