The Nagaland Medical Students’ Association (NMSA) will hold a peaceful protest on September 1 against the state government’s decision to regularise 280 contractual COVID-19 appointees. Triggered by an August 18 Health Department notification, the NMSA says the move undermines fairness and transparency in recruitment. Protesters will march in Kohima from the Secretariat Bus Stand to the Health Department. The association demands immediate revocation of the notification and requisitioning of sanctioned posts through NPSC/NSSB exams. Calling the policy “unjust and discriminatory,” the NMSA urges student bodies, civil groups, and citizens to join, stressing the fight for fairness, merit, and equal opportunity.
