North Korea has confirmed it sent troops to Russia to support Moscow’s war against Ukraine, helping reclaim Russian territory in the Kursk region. According to KCNA, Kim Jong Un deployed forces under a mutual defence treaty, calling them heroes. A monument will honor fallen soldiers. Around 14,000 North Koreans were deployed, facing heavy casualties but adapting quickly. Casualty estimates vary, with Ukraine citing 4,000, and the U.S. about 1,200. Russia praised the North Korean forces' role, while Ukraine stated fighting continues. The U.S. condemned North Korea’s involvement, urging an end to third-party support for Russia’s war against Ukraine.
