At the Regional Power Ministers' Conference in Gangtok, Meghalaya's Power Minister AT Mondal raised concerns over the proposed modalities for Pump Storage Projects (PSPs), arguing that the state should receive benefits similar to those from conventional hydel power projects. He emphasized Meghalaya’s hydropower potential and requested central assistance for small hydropower development. The Union Power Minister assured new beneficial modalities and encouraged exploration of solar power. Mondal also raised issues with the Resource Adequacy Plan and called for expanded transmission capacity schemes. He highlighted significant improvements in Meghalaya's power sector, including reduced AT&C losses.
