Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir for the fourth consecutive night, initiating unprovoked small arms fire in the Kupwara and Poonch sectors on April 27-28. This marked the first violation in the Poonch sector. The exchange of fire followed a terrorist attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people, with ties to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba. In response, India has implemented strict measures, including expelling Pakistani military attaches, suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, and closing the Attari land-transit post. Police have released sketches of three terrorists involved in the attack.
