Japanese Defence Minister General Nakatani met Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Monday and expressed condolences over the Pahalgam terror attack, reaffirming Japan’s solidarity with India. Rajnath thanked Japan for its support and praised Nakatani’s efforts in enhancing Indo-Japan defence relations. The bilateral meeting focused on regional security and deepening military cooperation. Both nations, members of the Quad, aim to boost coordination through a proposed supply-sharing agreement. This marks their second meeting in six months, following discussions in Laos in 2024. Defence ties have grown stronger since 2014 under their special strategic and global partnership framework.
