Modi Warned Vance of Strong Retaliation; Pakistan Reached Out to US After Base Strikes

A day after India’s BrahMos missile strikes on Pakistani air bases, it was revealed that PM Modi warned US VP Vance of a strong response to any Pakistani provocation. Following Pakistan’s drone and missile attacks on May 9–10, India retaliated with precision strikes on eight Pakistani military bases. This response, part of Operation Sindoor, aimed to impose political, military, and psychological costs on Pakistan post the April 22 Pahalgam attack. India’s message was clear: any provocation will be met with force. Despite US involvement prompted by Pakistan, India stressed its willingness to talk only through military channels, rejecting outside mediation.
