Militant Killed in Gunfight in South Kashmir's Tral

An unidentified terrorist was killed in a gunfight with security forces in Tral, South Kashmir's Pulwama district, on Thursday morning. The encounter began after forces received information about terrorist presence in Nader village. As the joint team closed in, terrorists opened fire in an attempt to flee, triggering the encounter. One terrorist was killed, though his body is yet to be recovered. The operation remains ongoing as forces search for more militants. This encounter follows the killing of three Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists in Shopian two days earlier. Officials note that only 14 local terrorists were listed in the Valley before Tuesday’s operation.
