India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has strongly rejected China's repeated attempts to rename places in Arunachal Pradesh, calling them “vain and preposterous.” The MEA stated that such naming efforts do not change the fact that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of India. This response comes after China released another list of so-called “standardised” names for locations in the state, which it claims as “South Tibet.” Arunachal CM Pema Khandu dismissed the move as a gimmick, and MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal reaffirmed India’s consistent position, asserting that renaming cannot alter geographical and sovereign realities.
