NIA Arrests Two ISIS Sleeper Cell Fugitives at Mumbai Airport in 2023 IED Case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested two ISIS sleeper cell fugitives, Abdullah Faiyaz Shaikh and Talha Khan, at Mumbai airport. They were wanted for a 2023 IED manufacturing and testing case in Pune. The suspects had been evading arrest for over two years, with Rs 3 lakh rewards offered for each. The case involves a conspiracy by them and eight other ISIS members to destabilize India and establish Islamic governance. The group conducted bomb-making workshops and tested IEDs in Pune. All 10 accused face charges under UAPA, Explosive Substances Act, Arms Act, and IPC.
