To strengthen the enforcement of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system, the Arunachal Pradesh government has suspended all weekly markets in West Kameng District with immediate effect. The decision follows a high-level meeting on April 30, 2025, chaired by the Home Minister. All existing permits for operating weekly markets have been revoked, and no market activity is allowed in any area of the district until further notice. Violations will lead to strict legal action. The Superintendent of Police, Bomdila, has been directed to ensure strict implementation. The move is part of efforts to safeguard the state's demographic and cultural integrity.
