Tripura Students Demand Appointment of Tribal Officer as Tribal Welfare Director

The Twipra Student Federation (TSF), part of the North East Students’ Organisation (NESO), has demanded that the Director of Tripura’s Tribal Welfare Department be replaced by a qualified tribal officer. TSF argues this change will improve the department's efficiency and inspire tribal civil servants. They submitted a memorandum to Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma, emphasizing that a tribal officer, familiar with the community's cultural and developmental issues, is best suited to lead. TSF called for immediate action, highlighting that such an appointment would demonstrate the government’s commitment to tribal empowerment and fair representation.
