NITI Aayog Governing Council Meeting Commences Under Prime Minister’s Leadership

NITI Aayog’s 10th Governing Council meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, began on May 24, 2025. The meeting’s theme is ‘Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat@2047,’ focusing on long-term, inclusive development aligned with national priorities and local realities. The council includes all State Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories, and several Union Ministers. This is PM Modi’s first major meeting with all these leaders after Operation Sindoor. NITI Aayog emphasized crafting bold vision documents with time-bound targets for states to contribute to a developed India by 2047. The Governing Council meets annually, with its first session held in 2015.
