Rahul Gandhi Visits J&K’s Poonch to Meet Pakistani Shelling Victims

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on May 24, 2025, to meet victims of recent cross-border shelling by Pakistani troops. This marked his second visit to the Union Territory since the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people. Gandhi traveled from Jammu airport to Poonch by helicopter to meet bereaved families and assess damage, including at religious and educational sites. The shelling followed India’s Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terror hubs in Pakistan and PoK. The violence caused deaths, injuries, and mass displacement near the Line of Control. Gandhi emphasized national unity against terrorism.
