The Congress claimed that the Modi government is planning a special Parliament session on June 25–26 to mark 50 years of the Emergency, calling it a distraction from urgent issues. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh criticized the move, saying the Prime Minister ignored requests for an all-party meeting and a special session to address the Pahalgam terror attack. He accused Modi of placing India under an "undeclared Emergency" for 11 years and avoiding accountability on key issues, including the 2020 China conflict and President Trump's claim of mediating between India and Pakistan, which India officially denied as a bilateral matter.
