On Wednesday, the Cabinet approved infrastructure projects worth over ₹7,000 crore, including a 108-km four-lane Badvel-Nellore highway in Andhra Pradesh and railway multi-tracking on the Ratlam-Nagda and Wardha-Balharshah routes in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. The highway will enhance connectivity to Krishnapatnam port and key industrial corridors, reducing travel distance by 40 km and saving an hour in travel time. The railway projects will ease congestion on East-West and North-South corridors, enabling more passenger trains. Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that these projects are part of the Modi government's ₹4.5 lakh crore infrastructure push in its third term.
