Gadkari Vows Infrastructure Boost in Manipur, Thanga to Be Linked with NH-2

M. Asnikumar Singh, former Loktak Development Authority Chairman, met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to discuss vital infrastructure projects in Manipur. The proposal focuses on boosting connectivity in Thanga constituency through the expansion of the Moirang–Thanga Road, a new bridge over Loktak Lake, and integrating a 37-km road into NH-2. Aimed at enhancing transport, tourism, and livelihoods, the plan aligns with India's Act East Policy. Gadkari appreciated the proposal’s significance and directed officials to expedite its review under the External Assistance Programme (EAP). The project has backing from Manipur’s former Chief Minister and the Public Works Department.
