India-China Relations: Ambassador Feihong Envisions a 'Better and Better' Future, Urges Joint Efforts from Both Sides

Chinese Ambassador Xu Feihong expressed optimism about the future of India-China relations, emphasizing their shared civilizational heritage. Speaking at a felicitation event in Kolkata, he highlighted the long-standing ties and cited PM Modi’s view that differences between the two nations are brief in a long history. He stressed the importance of youth in strengthening ties and called for joint efforts—including from governments, think tanks, and universities—to resolve border issues. Feihong recalled a consensus between PM Modi and President Xi Jinping to maintain good relations and hoped for the resumption of direct flights and enhanced youth exchanges ahead of the 75th diplomatic anniversary in 2025.
