Two Manipur Cabin Crew Among Victims of Ahmedabad–London Air India Crash

Two young women from Manipur, Kongbrailatpam Nganthoi Sharma and Singson Lamnunthem, are feared to be among the 12 crew members on board Air India Flight AI171, which crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad en route to London. The Boeing 787 carried 242 people, including 232 passengers. The crash occurred in Meghaninagar; the cause is still unknown. The incident has deeply affected Manipur, already troubled by ongoing ethnic violence. Families of the victims await confirmation. Air India confirmed 169 Indian nationals were aboard.
