Iran-Israel Conflict Triggers Security Concerns in Pakistan

In the wake of Israel’s attacks on Iran, including strikes on nuclear sites and assassinations, Pakistan condemned the aggression, citing violations of Iran’s sovereignty. While supporting Tehran, Pakistan shut five border crossings with Iran over security fears, especially in Balochistan, where separatist tensions are high. Analysts warn of potential militant crossovers and refugee inflows if conflict escalates. Islamabad has offered diplomatic mediation but remains cautious due to ties with the U.S. and concerns about Israeli air influence near its border. Pakistan fears regional instability, sectarian backlash, and does not want a repeat of the Afghan refugee crisis.
