The Tripura government has mandated that all auto-rickshaws operating within Agartala city must be painted pink for easy identification. Autos from outside the city will be barred from entering Agartala unless in emergencies, like airport or hospital trips, with valid documents. Transport Minister Sushanta Choudhury said this step aims to reduce traffic congestion and avoid disputes with local drivers. A one-month window is given to repaint vehicles. The government will also tighten surveillance at 13 checkpoints and implement an SOP to regulate entries. Schools are warned not to use private vehicles without commercial licenses to transport students.
