Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath announced on June 18 that a ₹1,800 crore project to modernize the state’s power transmission infrastructure is underway. Speaking at the inauguration of a 132 kV substation in Amarpur, he revealed plans to introduce live-line repair technology, allowing maintenance without power shutdowns. Other initiatives include rapid repair systems, summer load management, drone-based monitoring of tower lines for fault detection, and mobile substations to prevent outages during disasters. The project is being implemented with support from the Government of India and the World Bank to enhance the state’s overall power infrastructure and reliability.
