Two outstanding students from government schools in Nagaland — Shethilu Medeo and Iris Zomawii Lushai — have been selected to represent India at the Sakura Science High School Program 2025 in Japan, held from June 13 to 21. Accompanied by teacher Gihukali Sema, they are part of a prestigious, fully sponsored program under India’s Ministry of Education. Organised by Japan Science and Technology Agency, the initiative promotes scientific learning and cultural exchange. Selected through a merit-based process by Samagra Shiksha/NBSE, the students are visiting educational and tech institutions in Japan, marking a milestone for government school students in Nagaland.
