In Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district, a bus carrying Char Dham pilgrims to Badrinath fell into the Alaknanda river, killing two and leaving ten missing. The 31-seater bus, with 20 passengers from Rajasthan and Gujarat, lost control on a hilly road. Some passengers were thrown out and rescued by locals and SDRF teams, who launched a rescue operation. So far, seven people have been rescued, and search efforts continue under difficult conditions. One body has been recovered. The incident follows a June 15 helicopter crash near Kedarnath that killed seven. Monsoon-triggered landslides and weather disruptions have affected travel in the region.
